Founder - Dr. Donald Shorter, Sr.
 Dr.
Shorter is the Pastor and Founder of Pacific Christian
Center Church, a vibrant, growing,
non-denominational church
based in Tacoma, Washington. Leaving his successful secular
radio and television broadcasting career as a television
host on the Seattle, Washington ABC affiliates, Dr. Donald
Shorter Sr. founded Pacific Christian Center Church in
January of 1987 with his family of four as the only
members. Today, multitudes around the world are positively
impacted by their ministry everyday. Construction on their
new state of the art worship center was just recently
completed at their main location in Tacoma, Washington, and
the church now has expanded to 3 locations in 3 Washington
state cities.
Dr.
Shorter was licensed as a minister of the gospel November
11, 1984 at Live Oak Baptist Church in Tacoma, Washington
by Roosevelt Shorter Jr. He was ordained into the ministry
at Crenshaw Christian Center in Los Angeles, California at
the Faith Dome, February 20, 1999 by Dr. Frederick K.C.
Price. Dr. Shorter has received several awards,
certificates, and degrees including his Masters in Business
Administration in 1993, his Doctorate of Ministry in 1999
and his PhD in Religious Studies July 2005 at Friends
International Christian University in Merced, California.
Dr. Shorter is also an Instrument rated fixed wing aircraft
and helicopter pilot and frequently flies as Pilot In
Command frequently to minister the Word of God.
He has served on numerous boards throughout the past 16
years as well as currently serving on the Board of Directors
of the Fellowship of Inner-City Word of Faith Ministries, a
worldwide pastors and minister’s accountability organization
under the leadership of Dr. Frederick K.C. Price. It is
under this organization that he served as the Region One
Director, which comprised fellowship churches in the states
of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, and areas of Northern
California.
Dr.
Shorter met the former Kathy Lynette Hill while attending
Clover Park High School in Lakewood, Washington. They were
married in July of 1974, and have three children – Monet
Rivera, Dawnet Davis, and Donald Jr. and granddaughters
Aurianna and Anayas.
Today, he and his wife minister the Word of Faith through
Pacific Christian Center Church's worldwide ministry. They
minister to thousands each week through their speaking
engagements, radio and television teaching broadcasts,
regular church services, and business seminars in their 3
locations, encompassing the cities of Tacoma/Seattle,
Vancouver/Portland, Oregon, and Bellingham/Vancouver
Canada. Through their nonprofit Community Development
Corporation, Northco Development Incorporated, which Dr.
Shorter founded in 1998 their ministry accomplishments have
touched many segments of our society through their faith
based outreaches such as Real Dads In America, Kathi's Kids Outreach,
Excellence In Business, as
well as the Men of Excellence, and Women of
Wealth, The Fat Free Lifestyle, and First
Lady’s Boutique which is a women’s re-training and
career clothing outreach.
Dr.
Donald and Kathy Shorter are best known for teaching the
word of God in a practical, powerful, straight forward way,
causing lifestyles to be miraculously changed through the
ministry of the word of God. Through their numerous books,
such as “Take Control of your Thoughts”, “The Power in You”,
“Guard Your Heart”, and “Living In The Kingdom of God”, and
“Winning Against All Odds” along with their weekly
television program “Real Life In The Word”, DVDs, video
tapes, CDs, web site’s Streaming Video webcasts, audio
cassettes, and seminars, they are helping to changes lives
throughout North America, Europe, Africa around the world.
